SCRATCHING POSTS: A roll of corrugated cardboard is hard to resist. Take a good size cardboard box and tear the sides at the corners, so you can lay it out flat. Roll it up tightly, with the grain, using dabs of white glue to hold the roll together. When dry, glue the roll to a piece of board, so it's like a log sitting on the floor. Once kitty discovers it, he'll love it. This is as good or better than any scratching post you can buy.
Cats do not have to be shown how to have a good time, for they are unfailing ingenious in that respect.
